Our Partners

The National Care Association (NCA) recommends CHIS as their appointed insurance partner.

NCA Logo

The NCA has been established since 1981, and is recognized as the governing body for independent care homes in the UK.

Sheila Scott, Chief Executive of the National Care Association comments:

"After a thorough review of the services offered by a variety of insurance brokers, CHIS stood out like a beacon to us as the leading association for our care provider members. They offer the best covers, the most competitive premiums and have guaranteed our members the very best service too. CHIS really care and you can't ask for more than that. The National Care Association have no hesitation in recommending CHIS to all our members for their insurance needs."

CHIS is also fully registered and accredited with the BIBA (the British Insurance Brokers Association) and the FSA (the Financial Services Authority).

We also work closely with the CQC (Care Quality Commission), who are the regulatory body for care homes in England, and the equivalent organisations for the rest of the UK: SCRC (Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care), CSSIW(Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales), RQIA (Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority - Northern Ireland.)

Charities

At CHIS we believe that giving a little back is also important, be it either to those less fortunate than us, or just a local team trying to win their division - as long as the cause is worthy. Here's a list of the organisations we currently support:

Parkinson's Disease Society

After putting his body through months of rigorous training, CHIS MD David Waters recently completed the New York Marathon in a time just outside four hours. He was running to raise money for
The Parkinson's Disease Society, and managed to raise over £3000.

Charities Aid Foundation

Supporting the local community is of great importance to CHIS. In an effort to support a variety of charitable organisations, we have teamed up with the Charities Aid Foundation. With over 80 years of experience, CAF has become a leader in the industry. Boasting over £1m per day, CAF has developed strong relationships and gained the trust of both charities and donors.

Sporting teams and events

CHIS are proud to help the local community by sponsoring two of Lewes' finest sporting teams. Lewes itself is a small Sussex town just outside Brighton; most famous for its annual bonfire celebrations, which can amass thousands.

Lewes Priory Cricket Club

Lewes Priory Cricket Club has been established for over twenty years, and currently play in Division 2 of the Sussex County League. Like the proverbial yoyo, they have a penchant for promotion followed by relegation. They have been Premier Leagues champions in 1986 and 1990 and Division 2 winners in 1999, 2006 and 2008.

Lewes Rugby Football Club

Lewes RFC has been a stronghold in the community since 1930, and currently play in London League 2 South East.

Burning the Clocks

Burning the Clocks is one of those brilliantly pointless exercises that somehow unifies the Brighton streets. The annual event takes place in the midst of winter and involves street processions bearing home made lanterns, effigies and other (flammable) structures congregating on the beach where the whole lot gets burnt. The organisers describe it as: "antidote to the excesses of the commercial Christmas". CHIS are proud to contribute towards making the event happen.
